PROACTIVE WELLNESS LIFE COACH

CARL JOHN BERNARDO

My professional background spans decades of experience in the fields of weight management and fitness This includes working as an executive trainer and weight loss consultant for giant fitness organizations, i.e. Jack LaLanne European Health Spas, Jenny Craig Weight Loss International, Physicians Weight Loss Centers, 24 Hour Fitness and numerous others. Weight management and longevity life coaching are my specific areas of expertise. The impact that an overweight condition has on the quality and length of life is quite significant and relatively ignored by most healthcare professionals. Addressing the Obesity Pandemic is the way for me to make an important difference for the good of humanity. Excess body fat is a contributing factor with most degenerate diseases, which are the primary cause of premature aging and early death. I have founded the Weight Management Institute to focus on regaining and retaining youthful beauty and vitality by modifying lifestyle habits to reach an  ideal body weight for optimal health. There are no effortless solutions, only lifestyle education and applied knowledge can achieve sustainable results.

My professional background and personal interest in specific health and fitness modalities have shaped my philosophy. Something I once read about writing a mission statement asked what individuals were the most memorable and most influenced the direction of my life path. That was easy  to answer because there were two teachers, mentors of extraordinary character and skills that were key figures and I think about them and the lessons they taught me each and every day. Grand Master Feeman Ong (Shaolin Temple Monk)  and Jack LaLanne (AKA Godfather of Fitness). Most people are familiar with Jack as an exercise guru, however, he was also an innovator of good nutritional practices. Material on the website speaks of the amazing philosophy of the Shaolin Temple, were Master Ong resided  from early childhood until he was an adult. Much of Traditional Chinese Medicine originated at the Shaolin Temple. I don’t gamble, but meeting these two Grand Masters was like winning the lottery. Decades of exposure to these world class teachers and half a century counseling clients with giant weight loss companies has honed my coaching skills. This along with an innate resonance with the natural laws of rejuvenation, recognition of the importance of healthful lifestyle habits, keep me youthful and vital. These are the gifts I wish to share with my fellow human beings.

TAI CHI

Tai Chi is often referred to as moving meditation.

The soft flowing movements are suitable for all ages and have a self-healing quality.

SHAOLIN MEDICINE

Shaolin Chan Wu Yi
In Shaolin there are three “devotions”
Chan (meditation) Wu (martial arts) Yi (medicine).
These three cannot be separate.
If you realize the theory of Chan, you can make progress
in your medicine and reach the summit.
If you coordinate these three, your tai chi will increase.
At Shaolin we say three treasures are one.
According to the rules of Shaolin all three aspects
must increase simultaneously.
Some just specialize in one, this is imperfect.
